What is Kiln-Dried Firewood?
Kiln drying is the process of drying wood in a kiln. It is an artificial yet highly effective way of quickly drying out logs. Kiln drying also kills insects and parasites, allowing for in-home stacking, and burns cleaner with less smoke.
It's no contest. Kiln-dried firewood is better than seasoned wood for a campfire or a cozy blaze in your living room fireplace.
Does kiln-dried wood have bugs?
Kiln-dried wood is bug and parasite free. This is because the bugs and parasites are eliminated during the kiln drying process. This keeps you from bringing insects, such as termites and ants, into your homes.
NO BUGS OR PARASITES!
Does kiln-dried wood have creosote?
Using kiln-dried firewood with low moisture levels allows the fire to burn efficiently and creates a lot of heat and very little creosote if any at all.
Does kiln-dried wood smell?
Not only does kiln-dried firewood produce less smoke than other types of firewood, but it also doesn't have a sticky smell.
Kiln-dried wood Burns Cleaner?
Unlike seasoned wood, kiln-dried logs burn cleaner, meaning they do not deposit creosote when used.
